Mobile Library service
There are 2 mobile library vans on the road 4 days a week visiting villages and rural communities –

Home Delivery Service
We have a HDS for those infirm or unable to visit a library – our driver delivers and uplifts an agreed
amount of library resources on request. More information can be found here –

Library membership

Library membership is open to everyone who lives or works in Angus. You can join in branch by
proving proof or identity, or you can join online getting a temporary membership to allow access to
online resources and which will be upgraded on the first visit to a library – see here https://angus.spydus.co.uk/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/MSGTRN/WPAC/JOIN

Library members can borrow 12 items at a time – for a 28 day loan period which can be renewed if
no one else requires the item. There are no fines- for late items

Each library and mobile holds a physical stock of general fiction, crime scifi etc, nonfiction, Quick
Reads (for ) Dyslexia stock, Large Print titles and Audiobooks

Macmillan
ANGUSalive works in partnership with Macmillan, so that all libraries provide a comprehensive
range of Macmillan leaflets providing professional information. In addition, some libraries also offer
a regular Information and support session manned by Macmillan trained volunteers
We are currently developing a therapy room at Forfar Library where we will be able to provide a
range of free complimentary services provided by trained and fully qualified volunteers

Dementia resources
We have a range of Dementia boxes and bags containing physical items and photographs which can

Lend and Mend
Forfar Library has a Lend and Mend Hub – a space where people can pop in to make use of our 6
sewing machines, an overlocker and an embroidery machine to repair/upcycle and mend garments
or make new clothes. We offer sewing classes now and again so people can learn a new skill.
Volunteers. We are developing some volunteering roles and will be welcoming applications to assist us on some
behind the scenes projects.

Library Activities
Each library hosts a range of regular activities including.
Reading groups, Knit and Natter, Reminiscence groups and Young at heart clubs (board games etc)
These are free to attend and open to all. We can also offer library space for new groups to start up.
